Women's volleyball standout Melissa Blass was a key component to the Beavers' 3-2 week from the period of September 13th-September 19th. On September 14th, in a 3-1 loss at Baruch, the middle blocker hit .393 for the match while recording 11 kills and two digs. Following a pair of days off, Blass led the Beavers into the Kean University Tournament where CCNY would record wins in three of the four matches they played. In 3-0 victories over both Montclair State University and Centenary College, the 5'10 Oneonta native tallied eight kills apiece, and perhaps her most impressive performance of the tournament came against the host school Kean University, where in a 3-0 win over the Cougars, the senior recorded 14 kills, six digs, and two block assists. For the week, she tallied 2.8 kills and two digs per set (16 sets played for the week).
