The City College of Ney York Athletics

For the second consecutive week, standout Dalliana Toussaint of the women’s volleyball team was named the City College of New York Female Player of the Week for her phenomenal contributions during CCNY’s impressive 5-2 output this past week.

Toussaint – a sophomore out of Secondary School for Research High School – played in all seven of the team’s matches (24 total sets for the week), and she tallied 76 kills and made 43 errors on 197 total attempts for a percentage of .167. She also recorded 65 digs and 14 services aces as well.

Perhaps her most impressive performance came this past Saturday on the second day of the Lycoming College tournament when the standout led her squad in a 3-1 victory over Hartwick College with a match-high 16 kills to go along with 13 digs. Yesterday at the CUNYAC multi-match at Brooklyn College, she played a huge role in CCNY’s victories over NY City Tech and Lehman College. Against the Yellow Jackets, she had 11 kills and four digs in a three set victory and in a three set win over the Lightning, she helped with eight kills, 15 digs, and four service aces.

Toussaint – a 5’7 Brooklyn native – leads the Beavers this season in total kills with 227 (2.67 kills per set) and 235 digs (2.76 per set). She has been a big reason for CCNY’s recent surge as the team is now 5-2 in conference play, has won four matches in a row, and sits at 13-12.
