Alexis Billups of CCNY's women basketball team was named Female Athlete of the Week for the period of Monday, December 27th through Sunday, January 2nd.
Billups, a Chester, NY native, returned to the CCNY fray and played for the first time since November 23rd, as she scored a game-high 21 points in the Beavers' 97-66 loss at the hands of Centenary College this past Thursday afternoon at the Nat Holman Gymnasium.
In scoring the 21 points, the guard connected on five of her eight shots from the field while hitting on 11 of her 12 free throw attempts. She also added four assists and snatched three rebounds as well. Her contributions will be pivotal down the stretch for the Beavers as the team will try to turn their 1-8 season around in the coming weeks.
