Speedy point guard Donika Rexhepi was named the City College of New York's Female Athlete of the Week for the period of Monday, January 10th, through Sunday, January 16th.
The White Plains High School attendee had herself a terrific week despite the fact that the Beavers were 0-3 over the seven-day span. Rexhepi started the week slowly, hitting just three of her 15 shots and recording six points and grabbing six rebounds in CCNY's 66-35 loss to Rutgers Camden on January 10th. She finished her week strongly, though, nailing nine of her 21 shots and finishing with 21 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and five steals in the Beavers' 77-60 loss to John Jay College this past Wednesday evening. Then, on Sunday, January 16th, she scored 23 points, snatched 11 boards, and tallied four steals as City College dropped a non-conference game to NYU-Poly by a score of 71-49.
For the season, Rexhepi's averages of 10.7 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, 2.1 steals per game, and two assists per game, are all team-bests. She is shooting 63 percent from the charity stripe as well (36-57).
