Then, on Wednesday, March 2^nd, he was named CUNY’s Scholar-Athlete of the Month for February. He was given the honor thanks to his impressive athletic accomplishments as well as his success in the classroom. He is currently an advertising major with a cumulative 3.55 GPA.

Finishing out his impressive week, he competed at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, where he competed in the 400 meter dash, where the sophomore was hoping to fare well enough to be able to qualify for NCAA’s which take place on March 11^th-12^th. Dedewo came in second place in the event with a time of 49.15 – second out of a total of 26 runners who competed – but unfortunately did not qualify for NCAA competition. Also at the ECAC’s, he finished seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.31, and also ran a leg on the men’s 4x200 meter relay team (which also included Najua Ward, Jemaal Alexander, and Shodan Rodney) that finished 11^th with a time of 1:31.61 and just fell short of breaking the school’s record for time in that event.
