The City College of New York women's soccer team was bested 5-0 by conference opponent Lehman on Saturday afternoon.
The Beavers (1-11-1, 1-4-1 CUNYAC) started the match with
Emily Ramos in goal. Lehman (11-2, 5-0 CUNYAC), who is undefeated during conference play, started the match looking to remain unbeaten. While Lehman controlled the ball during most of the first half, the Beavers were able to hold them off until the 12' where the Lightning took a 1-0 lead.
The Lightning put up two more goals during the first half and held City to no shots. CCNY trailed 3-0 at halftime.
The Beavers fought hard in the second half still looking to take down Lehman.
Marissa Olsen and
Joanne Voyard both got shots off in the second half. Olsen's shot was on goal, but Lehman goalie, Stephanie Gonzalez, was able to get a hand on it. The Lightning struck two more times in the second half to win the match 5-0.
Ramos finished the match with nine saves.
The Beavers will face York on Wednesday October 21 at 3:30 p.m. The match does not count towards their conference record.
