CCNY rallied in the second set as they took a big 8-4 lead. Elms used their strong arm at the service line to pull the score within two as the Beavers held onto a 14-12 lead. The score was tied 15-15 before the two teams exchanged points. Elms then took a 22-20 lead and was able to hold off City as they took the second set 25-23.

City trailed 6-3 early in the third set, but used Elms errors to put themselves within one point of the lead. The tables were turned when Elms took a 4-0 run to take a 15-11 lead. The Beavers continued to fight as they searched for a victory, but the Blazers pulled out a victory with a 25-16 victory in set three.

Sebastjano Aga led the Beavers with six kills, while Edmund He added five kills and seven digs. Oleksandr Boychuk dished out 15 assists in the victory.

"Elms is a very strong and tall team," said head coach Andrijana Todorovic. "Our guys were really fighting, especially in the second set. I have seen a lot of progress in just two days. I'm very proud."
