The City College of New York men's volleyball team dominated Sarah Lawrence 3-0 (25-17, 25-5, 25-10) on Friday evening. The Beavers improve to a 4-9 overall record.
City started off the first set with the first four points, but Sarah Lawrence was not far behind. The Gryphons were able to come back and tied to game 8-8, but never took the lead. City was able to maintain control over Sarah Lawrence and took the first set 25-17.
CCNY started the second set off with the first four points, but this time they would not let Sarah Lawrence keep the set close. The Beavers dug deep and fought hard for a victory. They maintained control and would not let the Gryphons take control. The Beavers dominated and took the second set 25-5.
Coming off of two big set victories, the Beavers came into the third set with power. It was back-and-forth action to start the third set, but not for long. City took a 12-6 lead and would not look back. The Beavers would continue their dominance over the Gryphons and continued to add to their lead. CCNY took the third and final set 25-10.
Sebastjano Aga led the Beavers with 13 kills 12 digs and four service aces.
David Cham and Oleksandr Boychuck tallied three service aces a peice in the victory. Boychuk dished out 26 assists in the victory. The Beavers put up a .338 attack percentage on the match.
The Beavers return home to Nat Holman Gymnasium to play host to CUNYAC foe, Brooklyn College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
