Yonkers, NY – The City College of New York women's soccer team earned its second win of the season Sunday afternoon, defeating Sarah Lawrence, 3-0.
The Beavers got out the gates quickly, scoring in the 3rd minute with a goal from forward Marissa Olsen (Sr./Hunington Station, NY). That goal marks Olsen's sixth for the season. CCNY would hold a 1-0 lead into the second half.
The Beavers netted a second marker in the 77th minute. The goal was netted by Sarah Diebboll (Jr./Cold Spring, NY) with a assist by Marissa Olsen. From there, the Beavers found the back of the net shortly again. Forward Melany Caceres (Fr./ Woodhaven, N.Y.), would net her second goal of season with an assist from Marissa Scotto in the 82th minute. The team captured the win to improve their record to 2-1.
The team registered a total 11 shots for the match, nine of which were on goal. Freshmen goalkeeper Catherine Langkamp played a complete game, making four saves.
They will return to action on Wednesday, September 14th, against The College of Old Westbury in Old Westbury, NY. The kickoff is slated for 4:00 PM.
