Five Players Score in Double-Figures in CCNY's Win Over Lehman

New York, NY. –  The City College men's basketball had five players in double-figures led by Robbie Dionisio's 21 points in an 99-79 win over Lehman College on Wednesday night at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. CCNY has now won their last six games straight. 

Robbie Dionisio finished the night 8 of 9 from the field, including 4 of 4 from the free throw line. He also had with eight rebounds and three on the night.

Mark Richards added 18 points,nine rebounds and three blocks for the Beavers while David Solano pitched in with 16 points and seven boards. Khalil Hamer recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. Brendan Hauser had a season-high 11-points,shooting 3 of 4 from beyond the arch. 

CCNY out-rebounded Lehman 48-29.  City College shot 52.4 percent (33 of 63) from the field for the game, including 10 of 25 from 3-point range. City College also knocked down 82 percent of its free throws, hitting 23 of 28.

City College opened up an 17-8 lead just five minutes into the contest as the Beavers put the pressure on Lehman on the defensive end. 

The Beavers would go into halftime with a 15-point lead (43-38) over the Lighting.

In the second half, City College's largest lead 18-points after a basket from Dionisio. The Beavers closed out game with a 14-point lead, securing a 73-59 win.

The City College Men's Basketball team is now improves to 9-6 overall and 6-2 in conference play this season. The team will play the College of Staten Island next at home on Friday (Jan. 20) at 7:00pm.
