Men's Soccer Wins Season Finale against Yeshiva, 2-1

New York, NY – The CCNY men's soccer team won its season-finale to the metropolitan neighbor Yeshiva University on Wednesday evening, 2-1.

At the onset, both the Beavers and the Maccabees struggled to grab offensive footing. The first sizeable threat came on the first corner kick of the game taken by Yeshiva's Dan Cohen in the 2nd minute.

Junior Kamaroudine Tchabalandja led CCNY's scoring chances in the first half. The Junior had two shot attempts on goal that were stopped by Yeshiva Keeper. Junior Kevin Muniz and Rookie John Yauri also had a shot on goal in the half.

At the end of 45 minutes, each of the New York City foes combined for just 19 total shots.

In the second period, the tempo quickened and resulted in the Maccabees getting on the board first in the 47th minute. Yeshiva's Albert Dichy was able to tip in a shot from inside the box off a touch pass from Dan Cohen and Alberto Benhamu.

CCNY would respond moments later. In the 49th minute, third-year player Mustapha Camara intercepted a pass and chipped in a shot for his first goal of the season.

The Beavers got on the board again with a score from junior forward Kamaroudine Tchabalandja in the 74th minute.  The quick-striking forward knocked home the game-winning strike from 30 yards out off an assist from Edem Adika on the right side.

CCNY and Yeshiva were knotted in shots, with 20 apiece in the contest. Junior Marcus De Pompeis made nine saves in the win.

Junior Kamaroudine Tchabalandja finished the year leading the Beavers with nine goals on a team-high 44 shots.

CCNY concludes the season at 2-13-0, 1-7-0 CUNYAC.
