New York, NY - The City College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of contests in a conference tri-match hosted on their home court. CCNY fell in five sets to both the College of Staten Island and Lehman College.
In the first match aganist CSI, sophomore Sebastjano Aga led the Beavers with double-double. He had 28 kills, 10 digs. four aces and two blocks. Junior David Cham also record a double-double adding 14 kills and 12 digs, along with two aces and a block. Freshmen Carlos Maldonado Madrid chipped in nine kills, six digs and two assists Oleksandr Boychuk posted a match-high 39 assist in the lost. Staten Island won the match 19-25, 13-25, 25-20, 25-18 and 15-9.
In their final match against Lehman, the Beavers fell to the Lightening in five close played sets. Sebastjano Aga near another double-double (23 kills and nine digs), six aces and two blocks that paced the Beavers. Carlos Maldonado Madrid recorded 15 kills, while David Cham added nine kills. Oleksandr Boychuk posted a match-high 35 assist, nine digs, and two aces in the lost. Lehman won the match 19-25, 13-25, 25-20, 25-18 and 15-9.
The City College Men's Volleyball team is now 5-10 overall and 1-4 in conference play this season. The team will play the ST. Joseph College-BK next on Thursday (Mar. 16) at home beginning 7:00pm.
