New York, NY - On a rainy Saturday morning at Randall's Island, the CCNY women's soccer team pulled out a 5-1 victory over Sarah Lawrence College.
CCNY improves to 8-4 on the season with the win.
Prior to the game, the women's soccer program honored four members of their senior class of 2018:
Amy Gomez,
Tatiana Zuluaga,
Daniela Grisales-Agudelo and
Michelle Rodriguez.
Sarah Lawrence scored the first goal of the game in the third minute.Sophia Spralja stepped up and buried a shot it into the back of net to give the Gryphons a 1-0 lead.
In the eighth minute,
Daniela Grisales-Agudelo tied the match for CCNY, scoring her tenth goal of the season via an assist from
Ingrid Rosario.
CCNY took the lead at the 67:59 mark when Rosario scored her tenth goal of the season.
Susan Aracena assisted Rosario off a free kick opportunity.
Minutes later,
Gabrielle Duchaussee netted her 12
th goal of the season in the 69
th minute to give CCNY a 3-1 lead.
Tatiana Zuluaga extended the Beavers lead, netting her first of the day in the 71
st minute after finding a feed from with Rosario, putting the Beavers ahead, 4-1. Zuluaga added one more at the 83:30 mark off another filter ball from Rosario, sealing a 5-1 victory for the Lavender & Black.
The Beavers outshot the Gryphons 24-13 and had 10 shots on goal.
Junior
Catherine Langkamp had seven saves in net to improve to 5-2 on the season.
CCNY's next game is on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at John Jay.
