PURCHASE, NY – The CCNY men's volleyball team remained unbeaten in four games this season, as the Beavers defeated Purchase College in non-conference play Thursday evening, in straight sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-14).
In the opening set, the Lavender & Black secured a 25-16 victory. The Beavers played a tight second period with Purchase, but were able to pull out a 25-20 win. The Beavers won the final set 25-14, striking down 14 kills on a .538 team hitting percentage while committing zero errors.
Carlos Maldonado Madrid led the offensive attack for the Beavers with a match-high 19 kills on a .500 hitting percentage to go along with a team-high 11 digs and four aces.
Hei Chun Chan set the offense for the team with 35 assists to pair with four digs.
Javier Lazo,
Seth Diaz, and
Abdullah Khalid all finished with five kills each, while Lazo and Diaz totaled seven and six digs apiece.
Both
Christopher Lee and
Jonathan Liao contributed four digs in three sets played.
David Cham added four kills and seven digs.
The Beavers return to action at home against Mount Ida College on Friday night at 7:00 pm.
