Throggs Neck, N.Y. – The CCNY women's soccer team hit the road Saturday and shut out Maritime College by a score of 3-0. The Beavers improve to 3-1 on the year with the win.
After a scoreless first half. Sophomore
Amy Gomez got the Beavers on the board in the 52
nd minute off a feed from
Daniela Grisales-Agudelo, making it a 1-0 game.
Less than 10 minutes later,
Susan Aracena doubled the CCNY lead on another assist by Grisales-Agudelo, her sixth of the season.
At 69:16 mark, Grisales-Agudelo netted her first goal of the day to cap off the 3-0 victory for the Beavers.
Sophomore
Gabrielle Cillibrasi earned the shutout victory, stopping two shots to move to 2-0 on the year.
CCNY outshot Maritime in the game, 19-4, while putting 17 shots on goal compared to just two for the home team.
The Beavers will look to improve their record when they visit New York University on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Gaelic Park.
