Bronx, N.Y. - The CCNY women's basketball team wrapped up the first half of their conference slate with a 77-24 win over Lehman College on Wednesday in the Bronx, NY.
With the win, the Beavers move back to 9-7 overall and 5-3 in league play.
The Beavers opened the game on a 9-2 run, holding the Lightning scoreless for the opening minutes of the first quarter. CCNY ended the period leading Lehman, 23-9.
In the second quarter, CCNY locked down on the defensive end, only allowing Lehman to score four points in the period. The Beavers put up 24 points in the quarter while shooting 56.3% from the field. The Lavender & Black ended the first with a 34-points lead, holding a 47-13 advantage at halftime.
CCNY continued their charge in the second half, extending their lead to 54, with a 10-4 run to open the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter, before taking home a 77-24 victory.

Ashley Brooks led the way for CCNY, registered her eighth double-double of the season. She totaled 14 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals. Sophomore
Crystal Blair added a game-high 17 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Rookie
Imani Butts posted eight points, four rebounds, and two steals.
Senior
Debra Chan tallied eight points, a team-high five assists, and three steals.
Emily Arias,
Madison LaSalle, and
Melanie Torres each netted six points apiece.
The Beavers are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 19 they travel to the College of Staten Island for their second meeting of the season.
