Jamaica, NY - On Monday, the CCNY men's volleyball program split a pair of CUNY Athletic Conference matches at home. The Beavers defeated York College in their first match before falling to Hunter College in the final match.
The split moves the Beavers move to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Match 1: CCNY 3, York 0
In the opening match of the day, CCNY defeated the Cardinals in straight sets three sets, 25-10, 25-10, and 25-17.
Xhulio Myftari picked up 14  kills to lead the way for CCNY offensively.  
Carlos Maldonado Madrid ended with seven kills and a .400 hitting percentage. 
Hei Chun Chan dished out a match-high 31 assists, while 
Elijah Parks added five kills and two blocks.
 
Match 2: Hunter 3, CCNY 0
In CCNY's final match, the Beavers dropped a three-set set decision to Hunter, 25-21, 25-17, and 25-22.
 Myftari led the Beavers with a match-high 16 kills and three blocks. Maldonado Madrid came up with five kills, seven digs, and two blocks.  Chun Chan collected 21 assists while 
Seth Diaz had five blocks and three kills.
 
The Beavers return to action on Wednesday at Bard College.
