New York, NY - The City College of New York women's soccer program opened CUNY Athletic Conference play on Saturday, earning a shutout 9-0 victory over Lehman College on Senior Night. With the win, the Beavers improve to 4-1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Beavers wasted no time, breaking through in the first minute when
Charlotte Foberg perfectly set up junior
Skylar Parker to put CCNY ahead, 1-0. In the fourth minute, sophomore
Laura Villatoro netted the next goal for City College, doubling their lead to 2-0.
Parker tallied back-to-back in the 12th and 16th minutes to grow CCNY's lead to 4-0. Junior
Cassidy Canberg followed with her own set of goals in the 17th and 23rd minutes, lifting the Beavers to a 6-0 advantage.
Sophomore Mackenzie Moreno registered a goal in the 30th minute, while Villatoro closed out the scoring in the first half with a maker in the 33rd minute, handing the Beavers an 8-0 lead. Sophomore
Sharon Garcia tallied the final goal of the evening at the 65:06 mark of play, securing a 9-0 victory over the Lightning.
Villatoro provided five assists in the contest, while Canberg, Foberg, and Moreno had one apiece.
In goal, freshman
Amelia Cataldo recorded her third shutout of the season, making two stops.
Next, the Beavers return to the road on Wednesday, Oct. 5, to take on Purchase College.
