Annandale-on-Hudson, NY - The CCNY men's volleyball team fell in four sets (7-25, 19-25, 25-21, 12-25) to Bard College on Tuesday night, snapping their three-game winning steak. The loss drops the Beavers to 3-1
Bard took the opening frame with a 25-7 set victory over CCNY. In the second period, the Beavers fought back but fell in a tight set, 25-19. CCNY captured the third set over Bard, 25-21, but couldn't force a fifth set, falling in the final set, 25-12.
Freshman Utpal Chand led the Beavers, posting his third double-double of the season with 10 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Xhulio Myftari added 10 kills of his own, along with three digs and four blocks. Freshman Tenzin Tsepak totaled six digs and three blocks. Freshman Edwin Fierros Gaytan dished out 18 assists and three aces, while Rahul Sharma finished with three digs.
Next, CCNY returns to action on Friday, Feb. 25, on the road against St. Joseph's College - Brooklyn at 6:00 p.m.
