Jamaica, NY - On Wednesday, the CCNY women's basketball team closed out the 2021-22 season, falling in a non-conference matchup against York College, 57-47.
In the second period, the Beavers had their offense in a smooth rhythm, shooting 60.0 percent and outscoring the Cardinals, 16-8 in the quarter to hold a 23-18 lead at halftime.
The Cardinals responded strongly in the third, outscoring CCNY 21-8 in the period, holding an eight-point lead (39-31) over the Beavers heading into the final quarter. York closed out the game on an 11-6 run, securing a 57-47 victory over the Beavers.
Sophomore
Monae Laing capped for the season with her 11th double-double, dropping a game-high 19 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman
Fatoumata Nantoume finished the night with 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Freshman
Leondra Craig had her fourth double-digit scoring performance, netting 10 points, along with six rebounds.
Shanyah Lander grabbed a season-high five rebounds to go with two points and a pair of steals. Freshman
Charlotte Foberg had six rebounds, three assists, and two points. Freshman
Nicole Magretta added two points, two steals.
