CCNY Men's Basketball Picks Up Statement Win at Home Over Lehman, 75-61

New York, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team opened the 2023 calendar year at home Tuesday night, earning an impressive win over Lehman College, 75-61. With the win, the Beavers improve to 7-6 overall, and a perfect 2-0 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.

The win marks the first victory over Lehman for the Beavers since 2017.

Junior Yassine Sakhi led all scorers with a game-high 22 points in the win, adding three rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals. Senior Dashaun Galloway played a key role in the Beaver's win, tallying a season-high 19 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.

Sophomore Bayame Bah finished with nine points, six rebounds, and two blocks. Senior Daniel Piszczatowski had six points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Junior Amir Assani totaled four points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Freshman Michael Bowman netted eight points off the bench, while sophomore Marcus Heron added two points, two rebounds, and four assists.

In all, the Beavers shot 45.6 percent (26-of-57) from the field in the win, as well as a season-high .412 percent (7-of-17) from three-point range. Lehman held a 41-38 edge in rebounds.

Next, the Beavers visit Baruch College, the defending CUNYAC Championship, on Friday, Jan. 6, at 7:30 p.m.
