New York, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team toppled the John Jay College Bloodhounds, 83-61, Friday evening at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. With the victory, the Beavers improve to 14-8 overall and 9-2 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.
Before the game, the CCNY men's basketball program honored its four senior class members,
Ralph Godfrey,
Dashaun Galloway,
Amir Assani, and
Daniel Piszczatowski.
Junior
Yassine Sakhi led the team with a game-high 22 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Senior
Dashaun Galloway tallied a near triple-double, posting 16 points, seven rebounds, ten assists, and four steals. Senior
Daniel Piszczatowski added 14 points, five steals, and two assists.
Amir Assani finished with seven points, nine rebounds, and three blocks in the win.
Ralph Godfrey earned his first career start, finishing with four points and an assist. Freshman
Ricardo Dixon tallied six points, six rebounds, and a block. Sophomore
Bayame Bah finished with five points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Junior
Nana Oteng added five points, two rebounds, and two assists off the bench, while sophomore
Jordan Williams had four points.
The Beaver's offense had one of their most efficient games of the year, shooting a season-high 51.6 percent from the floor. CCNY also outrebounded the Bloodhounds 42-38 in the contest.
Next, the CCNY men's basketball returns to the Nat Holman Gymnasium for their final home game of the regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 8, hosting York College at 7:00 p.m.
