Brooklyn, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team closed out the regular season Wednesday night, defeating Brooklyn College on the road, 69-56.
The Beavers round out the regular season with a nine-game winning. Streak, improving to 18-7 overall and 11-3 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.
Junior Edward Beqiri finished the evening with 14 points, three rebounds, and five assists. Sophomore Ricardo Dixon posted 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore Justin Morety added 10 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
Senior Yassine Sakhi picked up nine points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Junior Jordan Williams added eight points, three rebounds, and two assists. Junior Chris Stone had seven points, five rebounds, and two assists, while junior Elijah Patterson collected seven points, five rebounds, and two blocks.
As a team, the Beavers shot 51.7 percent from the field and controlled the glass, outrebounding the Bulldogs 37-30.
Next, CCNY will advance to the CUNYAC Postseason Championship Tournament, garnering the second seed. The Beavers will host a semifinal matchup on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Nat Holman Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m.
