CCNY Women's Basketball Falls to Brooklyn in CUNYAC Opener

Brooklyn, NY - The City College of New York women's basketball team opened CUNY Athletic Conference play on Friday evening, falling to Brooklyn College, 88–20, at the West Quad Center in Brooklyn.

The Bulldogs established control early, going ahead 21–5 after the first quarter and extending their lead to 41–14 at halftime. CCNY worked hard on the boards, finishing with 41 rebounds — including 14 on the offensive end — but struggled to convert offensively, shooting 4-for-43 from the field.

Freshman Blessings Joseph-Pascall led the Beavers with a strong double-double effort, scoring eight points while pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds and adding four steals. Sophomore Ashley Subervi contributed four points and four rebounds, while junior Ashley Colon added four points, two boards, and a steal. Sophomore Yazmin Loma Romero hit CCNY's lone three-pointer of the night, finishing with three points and three rebounds.

Brooklyn, meanwhile, produced a balanced scoring attack, led by Dior Dorsey with 16 points, and capitalized on transition opportunities, scoring 55 points off turnovers and 36 fast-break points.

With the loss, CCNY moves to 2–6 overall and 0–1 in CUNYAC play. The Beavers will look to regroup and bounce back as they resume conference action at home against Hunter College on Thursday, December 11 at 5:00 p.m.
