Bronxville, NY - The City College of New York men's volleyball team opened its season in strong fashion, sweeping Sarah Lawrence College in straight sets to earn its first win of the year.
CCNY set the tone early with an efficient offensive attack, hitting .300 as a team while controlling the pace of play throughout the match. The Beavers totaled 37 kills and 34 assists, spreading the offense effectively and keeping the Gryphons off balance from start to finish.

Gabriel Linus led all hitters with 15 kills on an impressive .414 hitting percentage, providing consistent production on the outside. Sophmore
Amir Nabiyev powered the CCNY attack with a match-high 13.0 points, adding six kills, five service aces, and strong work at the net. Sophomore
Nana Boateng was highly efficient, finishing with eight kills on 13 attempts (.462) while contributing defensively.
Setter

Defensively, the Beavers held firm, collecting 37 digs and limiting Sarah Lawrence to a .000 team hitting percentage. The front line combined for key blocks at crucial moments to shut down Gryphon scoring runs.
Sarah Lawrence was led by Jack Cahill, who recorded 16 kills, but CCNY's balanced attack and defensive discipline proved too much to overcome.
