New York, NY — The City College of New York men's basketball team concluded the regular season on Senior Night, falling to the Baruch College Bearcats by a 66–53 margin on Tuesday evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium.
Prior to the start of the game, Head Coach
Daniel Colon and the CCNY athletics staff honored the program's Senior Class of 2026 members: Micahel Bowman and
Justin Morety.
Sophomore
Samuel Olubakin led the CCNY offense with 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting, while
David Leye added 9 points and
Camryn Reyes contributed 8 points. Olubakin's perfect free-throw shooting (5-for-5) was a bright spot for the Beavers in their final home game of the season.
Baruch, led by Trevon Coppin's 17 points and Leyi Adebayo's 13, maintained consistent scoring across both halves (33 points each) to secure the victory. CCNY rallied in the second half, outscoring the Bears 31–33, but shooting struggles (31.8% overall, 13% from three-point range) kept them from closing the gap.
Baruch's balanced attack and CCNY's inability to convert outside shots made the difference, as the Beavers finished the regular season 6–19 overall, 5–9 in CUNYAC play. The night also celebrated the contributions of the senior class, whose leadership helped shape the program over the past seasons.
Next, the Beavers will advance to the CUNYAC Championship Tournament, clinching the sixth seed. CCNY will travel to take on third-seeded Baruch College on Saturday, February 21, at 1:00 p.m.
