ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The City College of New York women's soccer team picked up its first victory of the 2026 season Saturday afternoon, defeating Cedar Crest College, 4-3, at FalconPlex.
The Beavers (1-3-0) and Falcons (0-3-0) battled through an exciting seven-goal contest, with CCNY holding off a late Cedar Crest push to secure its first win of the campaign.
CCNY opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Sara Rodriguez found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Cedar Crest answered just over five minutes later, with Amiyah Carroll scoring to send the teams into halftime tied, 1-1.
The Beavers regained the lead early in the second half when Yessenia Yascaribay scored in the 49th minute, giving CCNY a 2-1 advantage.
Carroll responded with her second goal of the afternoon in the 63rd minute, but Rodriguez struck again less than seven minutes later. Her second goal of the game put the Beavers back in front, 3-2.
Cedar Crest once again found an equalizer when Morgan Kreibick scored in the 81st minute to make it a 3-3 game.
CCNY answered immediately. Just 85 seconds later, Larisa Hodzic delivered the eventual game-winning goal, scoring in the 83rd minute off assists from Valeria Diaz and Scarlyn Jimenez to give the Beavers a 4-3 lead.
The Beavers' offense produced 24 shots, including 16 on goal. Yascaribay led CCNY with seven shots and five shots on goal, while Rodriguez recorded five shots and three shots on goal. Josoniah Terry added four shots, including three on target.
In goal, Jade Salas played all 90 minutes and made three saves to help preserve the victory.
CCNY also held an 11-7 advantage in shots in the opening half before finishing with a 24-15 edge for the match.
With the victory, the Beavers improve to 1-3-0 on the season and return home with momentum from their first win of the year.
