Delroy Ennis joined the City College of New York women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2019-20 season.  He came to CCNY after spending eight years as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at Medgar Evers College.

“Coach Ennis is a great addition to my staff,” Head Coach Michael Williams said.  “He has years of basketball coaching experience, and he is extremely integrated into the New York basketball community.  He is also a defensive specialist and very good at coming up with defensive schemes.”

At Medgar Evers, Ennis’ main responsibility was the recruiting of talented basketball players.  He recruited several 1,000-point scorers to Medgar Evers, including the CUNYAC’s leading scorer.  In addition, one player broke the school record for three-pointers in a game.

After five seasons as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs, Ennis was appointed Head Women’s Basketball Coach in 2011.  During his time as Head Coach, he led the Cougars to their first playoff appearance in 12 years.
