Hugh Reid

Hugh Reid has served as head coach of the City College of New York track and field program and cross-country teams since the fall of 2010.
 
CCNY’s track and field program has been the cream of the CUNYAC since Reid’s arrival, winning the men’s indoor and outdoor conference championships three times each (2011, 2012, 2013) while securing the women’s indoor conference championship in 2011 and 2013 and outdoor championship in 2011. Reid has won a combined nine CUNYAC Coach of the Year honors, while serving on the conference games committee. Under Reid’s leadership, over 125 CCNY student-athletes have earned all-conference all-star recognition, with six Athletes of the Year awards and five Rookie of the Year honors.  Three Beavers have been named All-Americans under Reid’s watch.
 
The highlight of Reid’s time at CCNY may have come in 2013 when Thierry Diessongo earned USTFCCCA Division III Indoor Track and Field Regional Athlete of the Year recognition.
 
Reid came to CCNY from West Virginia University where he was a graduate assistant coach, helping the Mountaineers to several individual Big East conference championships.
 
Reid competed at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he was Magna Cum Laude in 2001, with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the Commonwealth Honors College. Reid was a two-time Atlantic-10 Conference Champion, earning a plethora of honors and setting numerous school records.
