Sebastian Bush rejoined The City College of New York athletics department in September of 2021, returning to his previous role as Assistant Athletic Director of Communications and Sports Information.
At CCNY, Bush is responsible for all communications, media relations, social media, and creativity for the college’s athletic department.
Before returning to CCNY, Bush served as the Director of Sports Information at Monroe College-Bronx Campus. While with the Express, Bush oversaw all communications, media relations, and marketing efforts for Monroe College’s NJCAA Division III athletic programs. He was responsible for all aspects of media relations for the Athletics Department, including social media, live in-game statistics, web streaming, and other game-day communications and operations activities. In the winter of 2020, he was responsible for creating and designing new Monroe Express athletics logos and brand identity.
Before Monroe, Bush previously oversaw Sports Information at CCNY for three years. (2016-19). In his first stint with the Beavers, Bush handed all public relations, social media, and gameday operations for CCNY athletics. During the spring of 2019. Bush was responsible for creating and designing the new official CCNY Athletics website.
In addition, Bush has successfully nominated student-athletics for athletic and academic awards, including CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Rookie of the Year and multiple regional and national awards.
Bush came to CCNY from Monroe College-New Rochelle, where he spent two years as the Assistant Sports Information Director. During his time with the Mustangs, he was the secondary contact for college’s 26 athletic programs. Bush oversaw, produced, and directed the department’s live video stream. He also served as the Interim Sports Information Director for seven months.
During his senior year in college, Bush served as an athletic communications assistant at Iona College. With the Gaels, he gained experience interning in an NCAA Division I athletic program. He assisted with the in-house production of ESPN3 broadcasts, operated an in-game instant replay system for basketball games, and coordinated postgame interviews with players and coaches.
A former student-athlete himself, Bush ran track & field in high school and college. He ran collegiately for two seasons at Monroe College-New Rochelle. In 2019, Bush was inducted into the Longwood Central School District Athletic Hall of Fame.Â
In 2018, Bush was selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Institute for Administrative Advancement. In 2021, Bush was chosen to attend the Learfield EDGE Academy (Empowering Diversity Growth & Equity).
Bush graduated from Monroe College in 2016, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Sports Management.Â
He is an active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
