Women's Volleyball standout Melissa Blass was named CCNY's Athlete of the Week for the period of Monday, October 11th-Sunday, October 17th. The outside hitter was a big reason the Beavers were able to put forth a 3-2 week, as she played a huge role in helping CCNY capture three of the four matches they participated in at the St. Joseph's College (Long Island) Tournament.
After a three-set loss to Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, the Beavers traveled to Patchogue, NY for a weekend tourney. On Friday, in a five-set victory over Ramapo, Blass contributed with 13 kills, four digs, and three block assists while hitting .296. The following day, she helped CCNY silence Lehman in three sets by recording 12 kills and only committing two errors on 17 attempts while hitting .588, recording a pair of service aces, and tallying two digs. Then, after CCNY downed Lehman, the Beavers put away SUNY Farmingdale in three sets as the senior contributed with 12 kills (while hitting .435).
