The City College of Ney York Athletics

Heather Ruger of the women’s indoor track and field team was named CCNY’s Female Athlete of the Week for the period of Monday, December 6th through Sunday, December 12^th.

This past Wednesday evening at the Bill Ward Invitational hosted by St. John’s University, Ruger set a freshman record of 10.73 for the 60 meter hurdles. She was also a member of CCNY’s relay squad that claimed third place in the 4x400 meter relay.

Then, at the Seton Hall Invitational this past Sunday morning, the standout finished in second place in the 500 meter at a time of 1:24.4, which qualified her for the CTC championships, and she also set a new CCNY freshman record with that time as well.
