Women's Soccer Drops Non-Conference Matchup

The City College of New York women's soccer team dropped the match 8-0 to non-conference opponent Stockton University on Monday.

Stockton (9-2-4) struck first with a goal at the 5:32 mark. The Osprey put two more goals on the board to take a 3-0 advantage at the 13'. Joanne Voyard took the only shot on goal for the Beavers in the first half, however, the Osprey goalkeeper was able to come up with a big save to keep it a shutout going into the half.

Marissa Olsen also put up a shot in the first half that was wide. Emily Ramos, who started as the goalkeeper for the match, put up eight saves in the first half.

Ramos remained in goal for the second half hoping to put up big saves to give the Beavers a chance to remain in the match.

The Osprey defense however held the beavers to only one shot in the second half. Voyard took the only shot for CCNY in the second half. Stockton put up four more goals to take the match 8-0.

Ramos had four saves in the second half to put her total for the match at 12.

The team goes back to their conference lineup when they face Lehman on Saturday, October 17 at 1:30 p.m.
