The City College of New York men's soccer team picked up a 5-1 victory over Medgar Evers on Saturday at Randall's Island. With the victory, the Beavers have clinched the third seed in the CUNYAC Tournament.
The Beavers (8-7, 5-3 CUNYAC) struck first to take a 1-0 lead.
Mostafa Haridi gave a short quick pass to
Lanfia Diaby on the left side who then crossed it to
Stephanos Hondrakis who was right in front of the goal.
After a foul in the box by Medgar Evers,
Aaron Schoenfelder took the penalty shot that gave the Beavers a 2-0 lead. Medgar Evers had one shot in the first half, but
Maxwell Berkow caught it right in front of the goal to help maintain City's lead.

Augustine Amissah picked up a goal of his own. Diaby dished it out to
Stylianos Markou who passed it directly to Amissah who shot it into the bottom right corner.
Not too long after that
Abraham Martinez gave the Beavers a 4-0 lead. Markou was on the right side and dished it to
Stefanos Spiratos who sent it to Martinez in the box. The Medgar Evers goalkeeper was out of the box trying to get in front of the cross.
Schoenfelder put one more on goal to give the Beavers a 5-0 lead.
Christopher Lavelle dished it out to Kevin Muniez who gave it to Schoenfelder for the goal. At 89:58 Medgar Evers picked up a goal of their own. Zeakiel Daley scored from an assist from Shakeel Warrick.
As the number three seed, CCNY will host the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Tournament on Wednesday, October 28 at Randall's Island.
