The City College of New York men's soccer team will advance to the semifinals after a 1-0 victory over No. 6 Hunter in the quarterfinals.

City and Hunter went into action as the two conference foes would in a quarterfinal match. The Hawks seemed to dominate in the first half as they took 10 shots, but the Beavers put up a fight on defense and left them scoreless in the first half.

Hunter did not allow the Beavers to take a shot during the first half. The teams were tied 0-0 going into halftime.

The Beavers went into the locker room with the weight of needing a goal to push them into semifinals. At the 55', Anthony Scarallo took the penalty shot that went into the bottom right of the goal to give City a 1-0 lead.

The continuation of the match was an intense as the wind blowing with the rain. Both teams fought to advance to the next round of the tournament.

The team will face either No. 2 seeded Brooklyn or No. 7 seeded Lehman in the semifinals on Saturday, October 31.
