The City College of New York men's soccer team defeated No. 2 seeded Brooklyn College 2-0 to propel them into the CUNYAC Finals. The win sends the Beavers into their 11th CUNYAC Finals.
As it was during the regular season, the matchup between the No.2 seeded Brooklyn and No. 3 seeded City College of New York was intense. The conference foes battled to be the first to score and hold the advantage that would hopefully propel them into the CUNYAC Finals. City struck first at the 25'.
Clifford Leriche recorded his first goal of the season as he helped put CCNY up 1-0.
The continuation of the first half was a battle bewteen the two teams. City continued to hold a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Brooklyn only had one shot on goal during the first half, but
Maxwell Berkow came up with the save to keep the Beavers lead.
At the 60',
Mostafa Haridi recorded a goal of his own with an assist from
Abdul Abdulai to give CCNY a 2-0 lead. The Beaver defense continued to be a force to be reckoned with as they held the Bulldogs to only three shots on goal for the whole match. Berkow continued to dominate in goal as he recorded three saves.
