The City College of New York men's basketball team was topped 75-64 by Brooklyn College on Tuesday night at Nat Holman Gymnasium.
Brooklyn quickly took the lead and went up 9-2 early in the first half. The Beavers tried to make a comeback but was unable to slow down the Bulldogs. It seemed like for every point City got, the Bulldogs got three. Brooklyn maintained a 10-point lead for most of the half and continued to hold that lead. City went into the locker room trailing 23-34.
City came out strong in the second half looking to hand Brooklyn their first loss. However, the Bulldogs continued to add on points and maintain their lead. The Beavers shot .500 during the second half to make the effort for the win. City fell 75-64.
Khalil Hamer notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
David Solano added 16 points, while
Will Rhodes had 12. Hamer also dished out five assists in the loss.
The Beavers will travel to play St. Joseph's College (Long Island) on Saturday, November 28. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
