City College of New York men's soccer team defeated SUNY Purchase 1-0 Friday night in Purchase, New York.
The Beavers (2-2-0) started the match off strong with a goal at the 1:16 mark. 
Kenan Redzematovic scored the goal off of a free kick. This is the second goal on the early season for Redzematovic. The rest of the first half became a back-and-forth action between the two teams. CCNY was able to keep their 1-0 lead going into halftime.
The second half looked the same as the first half as both teams went back-and-forth fighting for the win. The Beavers continued to hold on to their 1-0 advantage and got to put another W in the win column.
Purchase (1-4-0) took 17 shots with only six of those shots going on goal. 
Maxwell Berkow was able to get a hand on those six and put up big saves for the Beavers. CCNY put up 10 shots with five going on goal.
City continues their road trip with a conference match against York on September 18 at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, New York. The match begins at 6:30 p.m.
