City College of New York women's soccer team was edged 4-0 by New Jersey City University in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The Beavers took the field hungry for a victory. The first half was an intense matchup between the two teams as both fought for the lead. The Gothic Knights were able to get off more shots, but Marissa Olsen and the defense put up a fight. At the 31:58 mark NJCU forward, Katherin Marino, put a shot on goal and gave NJCU the lead. CCNY trailed 1-0 going into halftime.

Still hungry for a victory, CCNY came out into the second half strong. At the 58:15 mark Katherin Marino scored her second goal of the match to give the Gothic Knights a 2-0 lead. The Gothic Knights scored two more times in the second half to take the match 4-0. 

Emily Ramos was the only Beaver to get a shot on goal, but Elif Demircan, Annette Scotto and Marissa Olsen all put up shots for City College of New York. Marissa Olsen put up 11 saves in the loss. 

CCNY will return home to Randall's Island to face John Jay on Wednesday September 16 at 4 p.m.
