The City College of New York men's soccer team fell 6-0 to Montclair State University Monday night in Upper Montclair, New Jersey.
While the first half consisted of both teams fighting for the lead, Montclair State (7-1-0) struck first at the 13:34 mark. The Redhawks continued to dominate in the first half. CCNY (3-3-0) was unable to get a shot off in the first 45 minutes. The Beavers were unable to stop the Redhawks offense as they went up 4-0 going into the half.
Abdul Abdulai and
Stephanos Hondrakis were the only Beavers to get a shot off in the second half. Montclair State struck two more times in the match. They defeated CCNY 6-0.
Both
Maxwell Berkow and
Marcus De Pompeis finished with two saves.
City host their home opener against Brooklyn College Wednesday, September 23 at 4 p.m.
