City College of New York women's soccer team was edged 1-0 by York College at Purchase College in Purchase, New York. 

City came into the match longing for a victory against conference foe, York. The first half of the match was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams. CCNY was able to get six shots off, with five of them going on goal, but York goalkeeper, Sarah Hilaire, put a hand on all of them. While, York only took two shots, one got through goalkeeper Marissa Olsen for York to take a 1-0 lead going into the half.

CCNY dominated the second half, not letting York get a shot off. For the Cardinals, however, Hilaire was able to stop the ball and pick up 13 saves in York's victory.

The Beavers had a season-best 18 shots, with 13 on goal. Olsen tallied one save. Michelle Rodriguez, Emily Ramos, Margot Salas, Elif Demircan, Olsen, Leanna Rodriguez, and Qiumei Zhang all had shots on goal during the match, with Ramos having three.

The team will face conference opponent Medgar Evers Saturday, October 3 at 9:30 a.m. The match will take place on Randall's Island at Field #70.
