City College of New York women's soccer team was edged 1-0 by York College at Purchase College in Purchase, New York.
City came into the match longing for a victory against conference foe, York. The first half of the match was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams. CCNY was able to get six shots off, with five of them going on goal, but York goalkeeper, Sarah Hilaire, put a hand on all of them. While, York only took two shots, one got through goalkeeper
Marissa Olsen for York to take a 1-0 lead going into the half.
CCNY dominated the second half, not letting York get a shot off. For the Cardinals, however, Hilaire was able to stop the ball and pick up 13 saves in York's victory.
The Beavers had a season-best 18 shots, with 13 on goal. Olsen tallied one save.
