CCNY Comes Back to beat Medgar Evers

New York, NY - The City College men's soccer program ended its three game slump on the road home Saturday afternoon, taking down the Medgar Evers, 2-1.  CCNY's comeback victory was catalyzed by the senior Stephanos Hondrkis.  
 

CCNY got on the scoreboard first late in the first half. The team's fist goal came in the 41st minute from reigning CUNYAC Player of the Week Kenan Redzematovic. The  Goal was assisted by Lanfia Diaby And Christoper Lavelle. The Beaver would lead Medgar 1-0 at the end of the first half.
 

Medgar Evers would tie the game up in the the second half. The Cougars first goal came in the 46th minute. The goal was scored by Garrek Estrada.

The Beavers would recapture the lead in the 79th minute. Senior Stephanos Hondrkis would net the game winner with assets from Christoper Lavelle And Kenan Redzematovic.

Senior Stephanos Hondrkis had nine shots, one of which was on goal. Marcus DePompeis was forced to make five saves in net.

CCNY and Medgar Evers each finished with 12 shots.  The Beavers had five shots on goal compared to six for the Cougars. 

The City College men's soccer team will look to continue their momentum in their next game on Saturday, Oct. 15 at home against John Jay.  Kickoff between the Bloodhounds and Beavers is scheduled for 8:30 PM.
