Brooklyn, N.Y. – The City College's Women's Soccer team played their second home game of the season on Monday, defeating Medgar Evers College at Aviator Sports Complex with a 14-0 final score. Senior Marissa Olsen led the offense with eight goals, including six goals in the first-half. The team is now 7-8 overall and 4-2-2.
Freshman Melany Caceres put CCNY on the board with a goal in the first nine minutes on the a unassisted goal. The next goal would come just two minutes later, when Olsen got her first marker of the game. Marissa Scotto made the score 3-0 on a nifty shot with an assist from Jennifer Dwamena.
Marissa Olsen would take full control over the game scoring three consecutive in under five minutes to put the team up 6-0.
Sophomore Michelle Rodriguez and Junior Isabella Molina would chip in a goal, followed by two more from Olsen to end the first half with a 10-0 lead over the Cougers.
Senior Annette Scotto knock in a goal in the 51st minute for her first goal of the season. Olsen netted her seventh goal of the game in the 62nd minute to tally the score at 12-0.
Senior Patricia Martinez brought the score to 13-0 in the 67th minute scoring her first goal of the season. The scoring was capped by Marissa Olsen in the 70th minute when she scored her eight goal of the game.
CCNY outshot Medgar 35-0 and had seven corner kicks. Olsen scored eight goals this game, more than any other Beaver player in the programs history.
The City College women's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, October 22, when they face York College at Randell's Island.
