Brooklyn, NY – The City College men's soccer program dropped a heartbreaker on Wednesday evening, falling to Brooklyn College, 1-0. The Bulldogs game-winning goal in the 76th minute came after a goal from Valentyn Kharko from five yards out.
CCNY's best chance to even the game came just ten minute later. After a foul from Brooklyn inside the box, freshmen Kevin Muniz took the corner kick. Senior Aaron Schoenfeder had the chace to score but missed a game tying goal off a header that went high over the goal.
Brooklyn outshot CCNY 18 to 10 and with nine shot landing on goal compared to the Beavers four.
Maxwell Berkow made eight saves in net for the Lavender and Black.
CCNY's next contest will be down in first round of the CUNYAC men's soccer championship. The Beavers will enter the postseason tournament with the number three seed. The team will host #6 Baruch C on Wed. October 26, time and place is currently TBA.
