New York, NY – City College wrapped up its last regular season home match with a tough five-set loss (16-25, 11-25, 25-20, 25-18, 12-15) to the New Jersey City College Knights. Before the game CCNY honored seniors
Veralucia Quispe and Brigitte Bozar in their final home match of their careers.
CCNY found themselves down 2-0 after the first two sets. Thanks to great support at the Nat Holman Gymnasium, the Beavers were able to pull out the next two sets in their favor. But NJCU was able to come back and steal victory from the Lavender and Black in the fifth set.
Senior Veralucia Quispe played strong posting a double-double with 11 digs and 10 assists. Senior Brigitte Bozar added nine digs, five kills, two blocks, and two assist. Sophomore
Camila Franco-Diaz finished with eight kills and four blocks. Junior
Irishvarsha Iyyadurai recorded 12 digs and six kills.
CCNY is now off until next Saturday, Oct. 29, when they travels to Frederick, MD to compete in the Hood College Tri-Match. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 PM
