BRONX, NY - The City College men's basketball team earned its second win in a 75-61 victory at Lehman College in their first City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) contest action at the APEX Center. The Beavers built a 10-point halftime lead and never look back holding onto the lead for the remainder of the game. With the victory, CCNY now sit at 2-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Senior Khalil Hamer led the Beavers with a 16-points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win. Senior David Solano added 16 points and seven boards. Solano shot 4-for-8 from beyond the arc in 30 minutes. Senior Robbie Dionisio had 14 points, six rebounds and two steals for the Lavender & Black. Senior Mark Richards posted an double-double scoring 10 points and 10 boards. Junior Salvatore Palazzolo posted 10 points, three rebounds and three steals for the Lavender & Black.
Lehman's John Brens led the home team with a 13-points, 3-rebounds and four assists. Sophomores Andrew Utate and Edwin Pasquale added 12 and 11 points respectively.
The Beavers out shot Lehman in the contest 45.6%-38.2% after shooting 26-for-57 from the field. The Beavers made due with an 14-for-19 effort from the free throw line during the game. The Lightening held a 42-40 rebounding edge.
Lehman pulled within six points with 3:23 remaining in the second half but did not get any closer.
CCNY returns to the Nat Holman Gymnasium when they host Baruch College on Friday (Dec. 2) at 7:00 pm.
