Men's Basketball Drop to Baruch In a Overtime Thriller, 81-79

New York, NY – The City College Men's Basketball team dropped a close overtime thriller Friday night to Baruch College, 81-79. Three players scored in double figures.
 

In the first half, Baruch led by eight points (12-4) early in the game. The Beaver scored 12 unanswered points to take a 16-4 lead(11:29). CCNY led by eight points (27-19) after a three-pointer from Robbie Dionisio with 8:11 remaining. City College ended the first half with a one point lead (34-33).

In second half, the Beavers would build a nine-point (63-54) lead after a good layup from Dardan Lahu with 5:12 left. A layup from Baruch's Doyin Isaac would spark a 13-4 run to tie the game at 67-67 to extend the game to overtime.

In overtime, the game would go thru six lead changes. With 00:14 remaining, the Bearcats led 79-77 before CCNY's Mark Richards would make a jumper to tie the game up at 79-79.
 

The Beavers would commit a costly foul with 00:03 left in the game and sent Baruch to the foul line. Baruch's Doyin Isaac would connect on both free throws to secure a 81-79 overtime victory.

For Baruch, Doyin Isaac came up huge with a career-high 35-points, 10-rebounds, and three assists.

In the game, three CCNY player's finished in double-figures. Robbie Dionisio was one of two CCNY player's to finishes with a double-double. Dionisio notched 16 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Khalil Hamer posted a double-double with 13-points, 13 boards, six assists, four steals and two blocks.  Mark Richards  led the scoring with 19 points (on 8-15 from the field) and 5 rebounds.

 David Solano totaled seven points and seven rebounds. Sonny Kadisha came off the bench chipping in seven points and four boards.

The City College Men's Basketball team is now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play on the season.  Their next game will be on the road in a conference game against The College of Staten Island on Tuesday, December 6th, at 7:30PM.
