Women's Basketball Fall To Baruch, 83-64

New York, NY – The City College Women's Basketball team lost its third consecutive game of the season on Friday at home, falling to the Baruch College Bearcats, 83-64. 

In the first quarter CCNY had trouble shooting the ball. Baruch would score 12 unanswered points to take a 16-5 lead (4:18). Baruch led after the first period 22-13.

In second quarter, the Beavers continued to struggle on offense, ending the period shooting 12-for-33 from the field. Baruch would end the first half with 10-point cushion (44-34). 

In the third quarter the Bearcats led as much as 14-points (5:18). The Bearcat finished the quarter holding a 59-48 lead.

Baruch held the lead for the rest of the quarter, taking the game with a final score of 83-64.

For CCNY, Debra Chan led the scoring picking up 13-points (shooting 3-for-6 from the three-point line) and three assists off the bench. Senior Marissa Olsen was one point shy of a double-double with nine points and a career-high 15-rebounds. Senior Erika Richards put up 12-points and grabbed five rebounds.

Alexis Akridge added seven points and four boards, while Beatrice Wallace played well off the bench with nine points and five rebounds.

The City College Women's Basketball team is now 1-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play on the season.  Their next game will be on the road in non-conference game against The College of New Rochelle on Sunday, December 4th, at 2PM.
