The City College of New York men's volleyball team fell 3-2 (16-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-10) against CSI on Tuesday evening in Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Beavers fall to 7-14, 6-8 CUNYAC, while CSI improves to 7-17, 3-10 CUNYAC.

CCNY started off the first set taking a big 6-1 lead, behind the serving of David Cham. The Dolphins chipped away at the lead and only trailed 10-9. City remained in control though and would not let CSI take the lead. The Beavers went on a 5-0 run to take a 18-13 lead. After that, City knew they had the first set won and continued to dominate taking the first set 25-16.

City started off the second set like the first one taking a 4-1 lead. It would not be for long though as the Dolphins would tie it up. For most of the second set both teams exchanged points with neither taking a solid lead. CSI would go up 22-18, but City took the next seven points behind the serving of Oleksandr Boychuk to take the second set 25-22.Ā

The third set was a completely back-and-forth set as neither team could take control. Both teams fought for a lead and CSI was thee first to take a big lead 17-15, City would come back, but that was where the Dolphins were able to take control and hold on. Even though CCNY tied it up 23-23, the Dolphins were able to record two kills to take the third set 25-23.

The Beavers took the lead 8-5 in the fourth set, but similar to the second the teams would exchange points and keep close. The Dolphins pulled ahead 23-17. City began to chip away at the lead, but could not stop CSI as they took the fourth set 25-20.

City went up 4-0 in the fifth set and looked strong, but CSI came right back and the fifth set was tied 5-5. It would then be the Dolphins to take control as they led 11-9. It would not be long before CSI was in complete control of the final set and won 15-10.

Sebastjano Aga led the Beavers with 32 kills, while Tommy Holzmacher and David Cham added 12 and 10, respectively. Aga also led City with 23 digs. Oleksandr Boychuk notched a double-double with 47 assists and 18 digs. Holzmacher and Cuong Quoc Tran tallied 12 and 11 respective digs. Boychuk led the team with four service aces.
