The City College of New York fell 11-1 on Sunday afternoon to Baruch College.
Baruch got things started right off the bat in the first inning with their leadoff batter doubling to left field. He was able to score before the Beavers could get the three outs to take a 1-0 lead.
City would not let them take the lead that easily and
Michael Siklas started the offense with a double to right center.
Adrian Pena brought him in with a single to left center. City tied the game 1-1 heading into bbthe second.
Starting pitcher,
Jeffrey Diaz, could not hold off Baruch in the third inning as they scored five runs off of six hits. Baruch continued to dominate in the fourth inning as
Joseph DeCarlo took over on the mound for the Beavers. Baruch tallied four runs off of four hits to take a big 10-1 lead.
Baruch's starting pitcher, Cameron Kitt, did not allow a hit until the fifth inning, but would not let anything come of it as he dominated on the mound. City would only record four hits off the starter.
Josef Bystrik came in to pitch the eighth inning and allowed just one hit against his five batters faced.
In the eighth inning, Siklas would be walked to lead off the inning. He would get to third with the help of Pena and
Rob Mandich, but was unable to be brought home for a Beaver run.
Lorenzo Hiraldo came in for the ninth inning for CCNY. Baruch scored one more run in the top of the ninth to take an 11-1 lead.
Baruch took the game 11-1.
City will travel to face CSI on Saturday, April 23 at 12 p.m.
